About the artist…

Alexandra Felgate lives and paints in South Australia. She works in mixed media, primarily ink and watercolour pencil on canvas or paper. She is inspired by nature, and loves to paint the beauty she sees in the world around her. Flowers are a common theme in her artwork “because they make people smile”, as are other plants, fruits, still lifes and animals.

IMG_5863   Alexandra is a big believer in recycling and reusing materials and resources, and will often paint on found papers such as newspapers, old maps, book pages and items from her recycling bin. Even used tea bags!

Alexandra studied fine art at the University of South Australia, graduating in 1995. She has exibited in many galleries and venues across SA, including Urban Cow Studio, The Silvermine Gallery, Red Poles, Stump Hill Gallery, Victor Harbor Rotary Art Show, Paxton Winery, Maxwell Winery, Settlement Winery, Shingleback Winery and Rosemount Winery. She has had four hugely successful solo exhibitions, as well as participating in group exhibitions and online galleries.
